Legacy left behind

What will your legacy be if you were to pass away tomorrow?
Will you be remembered? Will they say she was a great mom, sister, daughter, friend?
I recently heard someone say to sit down and write your own eulogy. What would you say?

I would hope I was remembered for the things I have done now — not my past. Can you leave your past behind you and start living for today?

I want to leave the future better than I left the past. My past shaped my future, and I’m shaping the futures to come.

I have kids and family members that knew me in my worst, in my addictions. My hopes, my dreams are that when that time comes and I leave this world, this new generation never gets to see that — that they see the made new. Not because I had to, but because I chose to stop numbing, stop running. I choose Hope. I choose Freedom.

A winding woodland path glows warmly as sunlight filters through the trees.

Every day is a victory. Every minute is a miracle. Every time I choose me instead of my addictions is a reason to live.

Because Recovery is possible. Recovery is worth it!

For over thirty-two days I listened to desperation, heartache — with fear of not knowing when or if the calls would end — begging, hoping for help for him, trying some days to make sense of what he was saying. Then the phone never rang again. It was silent. I would give anything to hear his voice one last time, even if he wasn’t understandable. No matter where you are in life, life is worth living. Life is better.

There was a song that just kept coming to me, so I would send to Josh “A Reason to Fight” by Disturbed.
Keep fighting!!

You Matter. Tomorrow needs you. I need you! God needs you!
Recovery is worth it.
Thank you for letting me share.
